Celebrity who is transitioning to vegan

The talented British singer and songwriter ellie goulding had so many turns in her diet, from cutting carbs to get in shape and then turning to a vegetarian diet. In an early interview she announced that she is transitioning to a vegan diet.

This is her journey:

Speaking to Jessie Ware on her Table Manners podcast, Ellie gave fans an insight into her carb-free diet. The Love Me Like You Do singer explained: “I think the last time I had pasta was on my honeymoon, which was last year in September. I can’t remember the last time I ate bread either, honestly.” Ellie revealed her eating habits are not solely driven by her appearance. Although she likes the taste of pasta and bread, she told Jessie: “When I eat carbs – it’s not just a vanity thing – I genuinely don’t feel great when I have them. I feel like I’m someone who’s naturally quite active. When I have big bowls of pasta and things like that I do feel like I’ve eaten a blanket or something really heavy.” Instead, she favors very nutritional foods: “I eat a lot of things for their nutritional value. The things I love for my taste are sweet things.“

After a while trying to look good for the cameras she realized that she wanted recognition for her music and talent, rather than her looks, she took a different approach to dieting. She adopted a vegetarian lifestyle for six years. during that time she didn’t ditch diaries and she claimed herself she had lots of yogurts and as she said to the interviewers  “I’m all about dairy….I’m not mad about coconut yoghurt and all those dairy-free alternatives.” It even now features heavily in her daily diet: “In the morning, I’ll have a messy bowl which is yoghurt with lots of goji berries and nuts and I love prunes and dates.

Further on Goulding is on her way to transitioning to a completely vegan diet. In an earlier interview with The Cut, Goulding said, ”I’m trying to be a full vegan, I’ve been a vegetarian for six years. I was a vegetarian all the way through my teens as well. I’ll definitely never eat fish or meat again.”

Goulding said she isn’t a massive fan of breakfast, but her go-to is some refreshing fruit or a healthy smoothie, getting those daily greens in one delicious go –  “I’ll shove a bunch of things in a NutriBullet — kale, cucumber, water. I try and have a smoothie every day, it’s really filling with protein powder. I love using Vega, because it is vegan and tastes fantastic, and maca powder. Spirulina doesn’t taste great but can easily be masked by a banana and some almond butter.”
