It is crazy how some international kitchens have lots of vegan meals, like Turkey!
We brought you one the most famous Turkish vegan foods, chickpea stew or as they call it nohut.
2cups over night soaked chickpea
2tbsp tomato paste
2tbsp vegetable oil
1tbsp vegan butter
Salt and pepper to your taste
Water for cooking
1)Chop the onion in small pieces
2)Fry the onions on medium heat in oil and before it’s golden add the minced garlic(so the garlics don’t burn)
3)Add the tomato paste,paprika and pepper and then fry them well until the tomato paste turns dark red(not too dark), then add the butter
4)Add the chickpeas and pour about 3 glasses of water and put it on low heat.
After your chickpeas are completely cooked add the salt.
You can eat this stew with rice or bread.
