From January 2022 France will ban plastic packaging for most of vegetables and fruits.

According to Plastic Europe, food packaging accounts for more than two third of the average person’s plastic footprint.

Most of Fruits and vegetables are washable and they usually come with their own packaging which was done by nature.

In this new list which is the next step for France’s “anti-waste law” France banned plastic packaging for foods and vegetables which are weighing less than 1.5 kilograms.

Some of the vegetables in this list are: peppers, cucumbers, potatoes, tomatoes, onions and fruits such as: apples, bananas, oranges, kiwis, lemons, melons, pineapples and so on.

French government also gave a 4-year deadline to manufacturers in order to change their packaging method.
